Description
A warm and comforting peach cobbler made with juicy fresh peaches and a golden biscuit topping, perfect for summer gatherings or cozy desserts.
Ingredients
6 to 8 fresh peaches, sliced (about 6 cups)
¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness of peaches)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar (for topping)
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup milk or buttermilk
Optional – cinnamon sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss sliced peaches with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Spread into prepared baking dish.
Bake the peaches for 10–15 minutes until juices begin to bubble.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in milk until just combined, forming a soft dough.
Drop spoonfuls of dough evenly over the hot peach filling. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
Bake for 30–40 minutes until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Adjust sugar in filling based on peach sweetness.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
Frozen peaches can be used if thawed and drained well.
