Description
Moist, sweet, and loaded with juicy peaches, this peach bread is a quick bread recipe you’ll want to make all year round. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, and it freezes beautifully.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
2 large eggs
½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
1 cup granulated sugar
1½ cups chopped peaches (fresh, canned, or frozen and thawed)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
In another bowl, whisk oil, eggs, sugar, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined.
Fold in the chopped peaches and optional nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
You can use fresh, canned, or frozen peaches. If using canned, drain them well; if using frozen, thaw and blot dry.
Add a crumb topping or peach glaze for extra flavor.
This recipe also works well as muffins, reduce bake time to 20–25 minutes.
